And yet again we find ourselves outraged by another police involved murder caught on tape. Everyone is screaming justice will be served. Justice will not be served. Justice does not exist or at least it doesn't exist for those who look like Alton Sterling. Alton is the latest murder victim at the hands of the police. Collectively we have to say enough is enough.and do something about it. Not just black people, but all people. If you don't think these murders are wrong on all levels, there is something morally wrong with you. You have no soul. You aren't a Christian. You aren't Muslim. You are an empty vessel wasting your time sitting in a pew every Sunday. Turning your head doesn't absolve you of anything. Turning a blind eye puts you on the hook with the rest of us.
We are all to blame. Myself included. We don't hold anybody accountable for anything in this country. Drug dealers get life and pedophiles get 5 years. Cops that murder get new jobs. We never want to get involved with anything. We don't want to make noise or rock the boat. It's time to flip the boat and sink it. It's time to call out those who do nothing. It's time to call out the "good cops" who work with these murders. Why are you letting this behavior go, being that you are a public servant? The police want everybody to say something when a crime occurs but they don't and will not say a word when they are elbow to elbow with the devil...when they are in the trenches with Satan.
It's time to do whatever it takes to stop murders by police. We need to call out the Oprah's and Jay-Z's of the world. Use your money like the NRA does and buy a senator or two or thirty. These celebrities have a laundry list of friends. How many of those friends are Governors or Judges? Do all the same things that others do and maybe we will see some change trickle down.
I have noticed how the mistreated people in this country operate. We complain to each other but we do nothing. We make t-shirts and signs. We march and we burn down our own communities. Those things might get media attention but have no effect on the problem. We slander black men and women who join the police force but they aren't on camera gunning down their own people. Instead of trying to remove the people who make decisions that are not in our best interests, we ridicule those people in the community who push for you to make real change. We blow off the election process. We always say voting doesn't work but have you tried it? Does the average person know that some judges, district attorneys, coroners, city council members, etc. are elected? If you don't believe in the election process, try something different. Call your senator everyday. Email them everyday. Go to city council meetings and ask tough questions. We need fearless people in public offices to make the right decisions and we need to put them there. We need the entertainers and athletes to help steer the kids to be more socially conscience and responsible. We need police chiefs who change the rules and stick their necks out for the good of the people. There are people out there for the job but we won't help them get there. We all need to do something. Do anything.
